"Toffee" from Star vs The Forces of Evil
I wanted to update this dead blog with something a little different than my usual and mostly likely annoying story art. So instead, I give you "Toffee," the proper and articulated lizard-guy with ulterior motives dressed in a business suit from one of Disney's newest shows, Star vs The Forces of Evil...Which already finished its first season this past fall. I can't read this villain at all. His entire character is shrouded in mystery and only tiny hints about him have been slowly leaked through in every episode he appears in. He's one of the types of villains that I'm fascinated with because he's unpredictable and he has that same "cunningly evil" vibe reminiscent of Artemis Fowl and my own Ludevec. I really hope we see more of him next season because I really want to figure out what makes him tick.
Anyway, putting the fangirling aside, I've been busy the past few months with trying to beef up my figure-drawing skills and revising my first book of "The World Hero Race" series. I made some progress in the drawing, and quite a lot on the book. I managed to cut down on the dull moments in the first few chapters, mashed 3 events into one large suspenseful one, made Ludevec a bit more crafty, and cut back one whole chapter. As for the figure-drawing, I got some interesting pieces that I still have yet to take photos of for my portfolio, and even tried my hand at using oil pastels with turpenoid and made some interesting watercolor-like pieces.
Currently, I'm trying out a Tumblr challenge to work on my comic-making skills by creating a comic based off of a short-story/side-story from my original series, as well as beefing up my character designs.
Now if only I can get a studio job up north somewhere and upgrade my computer equipment, then I could really dive into my projects...
